A new Kickstarter campaign has been launched for the Aspen Aura microphone, which utilises Auracast as part of its Bluetooth LE Audio functionality.
Made by Emendion, the company says it will offer studio-quality recording and crystal-clear sound with a noise level as low as 15 decibels – all in a device that fits in the coin pocket of a pair of jeans, making it highly portable.
Weighing just 5g, the Aspen Aura is designed to clip onto clothing in four different positions and be worn all day without making its presence felt. Its battery life is expected to be five hours, which will be perfect for those who create live streams of games, sports commentary, or special events.
Emendion says it is also ideal for hearing aid streaming, assistive listening, teaching and lectures, meetings and presentations, product demos and public speaking.
Because it is Auracast, the live audio can be transmitted to an unlimited number of devices simultaneously, up to a range of 20 metres.
Using four MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) microphones that work in an omnidirectional configuration, Emendion says it can capture a frequency range between 20-24,000 Hz at 48kHz sampling frequency. It can also achieve a noise level of 15dB(A) and handles maximum sound pressure levels up to 122 dBSPL.
It is also weather-resistant, handy for those who will make videos in the great outdoors.

Founded in Sweden by three engineers, Emendion created the Aspen One microphone as one of the first professional-grade microphones to support the new Bluetooth LE Audio standard and Auracast broadcasting. They have developed the hardware and software in-house, while collaborating with external specialists on the device’s design, ensuring it is compact, robust, and durable.
The Kickstarter campaign mentions its Auracast capabilities: “Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast are still at the beginning of their global rollout, but support is growing across hearing aids, phones, computers, earbuds, and assistive listening devices. Aspen Aura is built for this transition, ready to work with compatible devices today and with many more as Auracast adoption expands.”
The company is also promising low latency and no need for additional audio infrastructure. A USB-C Receiver can record audio on desktop and mobile devices: “The receiver behaves like a standard USB-C audio device, making setup straightforward and broadly compatible”, it notes.
The device is powered by Insight SIP’s IPS2053 module. The company makes ultra-miniature RF modules that can be used in compact Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, UWB and LoRA solutions.

What’s in the Kickstarter rewards for the Emendion Aspen Aura?
As with every Kickstarter Campaign, there are different tiers offering different rewards for supporters.
The Early Delivery tier includes a microphone and carry case for €89. A receiver can be added to the bundle. This is due for delivery from June 2026.
The Aspen Aura Microphone will be delivered in August, and is €99.
The next tier bundles the Aspen Aura Receiver for €129.
Moving up, the Broadcast Kit 5 offers the microphone and five receiver units, plus a case for €319, while the Broadcast Kit 10 includes 10 receivers for €549.
