Ampetronic has announced the speaker line-up for its Audio Technology for the Future event at Expo 2025 in Osaka, spotlighting the exciting potential of Auracast to transform hearing accessibility worldwide.

For those unfamiliar, Expo 2025 is being held in Japan between April and October, and is a major world’s fair. Earlier this month, organisers revealed that more than 15 million people had visited, making it a hugely popular event.

And no wonder: it brings together more than 150 countries and organisations to showcase innovations in technology, sustainability, culture, and social solutions, including Auracast.

For those who can’t make the event, a Virtual Expo has been launched, given people an opportunity to travel around an electronic recreation of the various pavilions that make up the expo. This works on smartphones, computers and MetaQuest 2 and 3 goggles.

The Expo 2025 theme is Designing Future Society for Our Lives, and makes it the perfect stage for Ampetronic to demonstrate how next-generation audio technologies like Auracast can improve accessibility and enhance everyday experiences.

Ampetronic’s event will be held on Thursday, August 21, in the Hospitality Suite of the UK Pavilion, and follows on from its trials of Auracast at Bristol Temple Meads railway station.

This will be an opportunity to hear from leading voices in the hearing and audio technology sector and explore how Auracast is shaping the future of assistive listening and one-to-many audio broadcasts.

Visitors will be able to experience Auracast-enabled devices first-hand, ask questions of the speakers, and discover the opportunities this technology opens for venues and end-users in Japan and around the world.

Presentations at Expo 2025 will be delivered in English and Japanese, with interpretation services available.

Ampetronic and Listen has more than 65 years of combined expertise, creating traditional hearing loop systems as well as Auracast-enabled solutions like Auri. The companies create solutions for theatres, houses of worship, schools, transportation hubs, and corporate spaces.

Who will be speaking at Ampetronic’s event at Expo 2025?

Henry Wong, director of market development at Bluetooth SIG, will explain Auracast and its capabilities as a next-generation broadcast audio technology.

He will outline how this one-to-many system can make audio more accessible and immersive for everyone.

Ed Beck, business development manager at Ampetronic | Listen Technologies, will explore Auri and the Future of Audio Accessibility, sharing how Auracast is being integrated into innovative assistive listening solutions to help people hear and connect more easily in public spaces.

He said: “It’s an honour to join this lineup of esteemed speakers whose organisations have embraced Auracast and are delivering solutions that help people engage more fully with the world around them.”

From Japan, Martin Armstrong, president and general manager of GN Hearing Japan, will discuss Auracast-Enabled Hearing Aids, showing how the technology enhances the listening experience for hearing aid users.

Meanwhile, Masahiko Seki, senior network technical manager at Sony Corporation, will present Auracast-Compatible Consumer Devices, highlighting how Auracast is being adopted in mainstream consumer electronics, including smartphones and earbuds.
