Starkey has been recognised with two 2026 BIG AI Excellence Awards from the Business Intelligence Group.
The flagship Omega AI hearing devices, launched last autumn, earned an award for advancing artificial intelligence in hearing technology, while Achin Bhowmik, Starkey chief technology officer and executive vice president of engineering, received an individual award for his leadership in AI-driven health technology.
The BIG AI Excellence Awards recognise organisations, products, and individuals leading the way in artificial intelligence to deliver advancements that improve lives.
Starkey says it has been at the forefront of integrating artificial intelligence into hearing technology, including embedding sensors and AI-driven features directly into hearing aids, turning them into multifunctional devices.
This allows technology to adapt to complex listening environments, prioritise speech, and reduce background noise.
Under the leadership of Bhowmik, Starkey has expanded its capabilities to combine hearing enhancement with wellness features, and also the implementation of Auracast in its Edge AI and Omega AI ranges.
