EUHA saw not one but two new hearing aid launches from Oticon: the Oticon Intent miniBTE R is a sister to the Intent range, and the new Oticon Zeal.
The Danish company was showcasing the hearing aids at EUHA, introducing its updated Auracast Assistant app in the process.
The aid is, the company says, is its smallest powerhouse yet, aimed at helping hearing aid users engage more with the world around them.
However, the rollout will be staggered across the world, so not every territory will have access to the hearing aids just yet. It’s very much a case of watch this space in every market.
What Oticon says about the Oticon Intent miniBTE R hearing aid
Oticon says the Oticon Intent miniBTE R has two fitting levels (85 and 105), so that there is more flexibility when audiologists fit the aids in a patient.
It also utilises its second-generation AI and sensor-driven BrainHearing technology, which Oticon claims can alleviate listening stress and provide exceptional speech clarity in various listening environments, thanks to its 4D sensors.
These sensors can act on the user’s needs at that moment, be it tuning in to a conversation, head movements, body movements or the acoustics in the room.
And using its MoreSound Intelligence 3.0 technology, the company says that Oticon Intent miniBTE R users will experience a 31% reduction in sustained listening efforts when following speech in a very complex listening environment and a 40% reduction in listening stress in challenging sound environments compared to the previous iteration of the technology.

The Oticon Intent miniBTE R promises a full day battery life, with a 30-minute charge delivering eight hours.
To assist audiologists, users, and carers, the aids feature a pulsing LED light that provides status messages.
And as for Auracast in the Oticon Intent miniBTE R?
Oticon says it has been collaborating closely with Apple and Google on connectivity, audio streaming and pairing.
In addition to the Oticon Intent miniBTE R’s launch, Oticon announced support for Google Fast Pair at EUHA. This will make connections quicker and easier for Android users.
Its Oticon Companion phone app, which works on both iPhones and Android, has a built in Auracast Assistant that is similar to GN Resound’s Smart 3D app. This is straightforward to use; the user has full control over the sounds they are hearing at that moment, be it the Auracast volume or the noise around them.
