In a world first, Oticon has launched new hearing aids with Google Fast Pair, in addition to including Auracast as standard.

At EUHA 2025, Oticon launched the Oticon Zeal and an updated Oticon Intent, saying that the launch sets a new benchmark for hearing aid connectivity. Google Fast Pair uses Bluetooth LE to connect devices quickly simply by putting the two items close to each other.

Google says this can include headphones, car kits, mice and keyboards … and with Oticon’s launches, hearing aids as well.

A notification pops up on the device during the initial pairing process. These settings are then stored in the device so that the next time the two items are in proximity again, they connect again. It can also display battery charge on the Bluetooth device, have a personalised name for the connection, and connect even when there is no phone network to work with.

“We’re thrilled to see Oticon leverage Google’s Fast Pair technology in their new Oticon Intent and Oticon Zeal hearing aids,” says Tiger Lan, Senior Director of Engineering for Multi-Device Experiences at Google.

“This collaboration underscores our commitment to making technology more accessible and seamless for everyone.

“By integrating Fast Pair, Oticon is empowering users with an effortless way to connect their hearing aids to Android devices.”

Oticon promises that the Fast Pair connection will allow its new hearing aids to make the connection with just one type. Understandably, the company is delighted to be launching its new hearing aids with this feature.

“We are immensely proud to bring Google’s Fast Pair to our LE Audio hearing aids. Oticon Intent and Oticon Zeal are the world’s first hearing aids to offer Google Fast Pair, a testament to our strong collaboration with Google,” says Frederik Gundelach, Senior Product Manager, Oticon.

“Together, we have pioneered the most effortless way to connect Oticon LE Audio hearing aids to Android LE Audio devices, setting a new standard for accessibility, to the benefit of millions of hearing aid users across the globe.”

Fast Pair is good, but what about Auracast in the Oticon Zeal and Oticon Intent?

Oticon Zeal is a new in-the-ear hearing aid, and was launched at EUHA on its first day, 22 October 2025.

The company says it uses encapsulation techniques to make this a compact and powerful device. Other benefits include the ability to offer a same-day fitting service. We will detail these features in an additional post.

The Oticon Intent miniBTE R is an expansion to the Intent family that the company already has on the market.

It uses sensor-driven BrainHearing technology, which Oticon says offers outstanding speech clarity and eases listening stress.

Auracast is now built into the Oticon Zeal and the Oticon Intent miniBTE R. Both devices feature Auracast Assistants within their respective phone apps, allowing iPhone users to access Auracast through these apps.

This is a big step forward.

Oticon says that by supporting Bluetooth LE Audio and Google Fast Pair in these hearing aids, it ensures compatibility with a range of devices, including iPhone, iPad, Vision Pro, Apple Watch, Mac and selected Android devices, tablets and PCs.

The launch of the new hearing aids is being staggered across markets, so it may be some time before it is launched in the UK.
