Audiology students from across the United States visited Starkey’s US headquarters to explore the future of hearing healthcare, including Auracast.

The company is based in Eden Prairie, Minneapolis, and holds an annual Starkey University Workshop. This is designed to support the studies of those learning more about the audiology industry, potential solutions, and what lies around the corner.

Students engaged in interactive sessions covering hearing science, AI, patient-centred care, clinical best practices, and the expanding role of hearing technology in supporting communication, cognition, and overall wellness.

The event also included a tour of Starkey’s global headquarters, where students had a chance to see ongoing research, engineering, and manufacturing operations, and connect directly with teams working on hearing innovations.

Starkey says that those participating learnt about AI-powered hearing technology, participated in hands-on learning experiences, collaborated with Starkey leaders and industry experts, and gained practical clinical insights that will then help them deliver exceptional patient care.

Sara Burdak, AuD, Chief Audiology Officer and Executive Vice President of Product Strategy at Starkey, said the experience reflected Starkey’s desire to see the profession move forward through education, innovation, and meaningful collaboration.

“As hearing technology continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace, it’s essential that we support and uplift audiology students early and equip them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to harness these innovations for the benefit of their future patients,” she said.
